LECTURE FREE DAY

You woke up and checked the time on your phone. Ah!!!It was 7:49am. You switched on your mobile data and checked the group chat for a class update. You scroll down the arguments and devotionals, searching for information as to the class venue and time. You could not believe it. You wiped your eyes to make sure you were not dreaming. The 8:00am, 10:00am, 1:00pm and 2:00pm classes had been cancelled. You typed a quick love emoji to your class rep and switched off your phone. Luckily it was a Tuesday so you had no other activities for the day. You did a small happy dance and begged your roommate to transfer some movies to your laptop. It was going to be a great day, you said to yourself. You put off bathing till whenever you were going to be done with the movie marathon. Clad in a T-shirt and shorts, you went to shop 20 with a cup in hand to get Coke and biscuits to complete your cinema session. You bought them and while sashaying back to your room, you heard your name. It was Ken. You said hi and all of a sudden the words from his mouth seemed to want to shatter the glass bottle that is your heart. The course rep fixed another class for 10:00am. "This cannot be happening to me," you said to yourself while thanking him for the information. Dentistry guys had an contractive mischievous muscle but Ken never joked with such sensitive matters. You got back to your room, switched on your phone and the messages came flooding in at 9:07. It was true so you drank from the cup of coke to heal some of the pain. The top you had planned to wear needed ironing and NEPA being the almighty corporation they are had taken the light. You could not go to class looking like a fowl drenched in rainwater so you found a plain orange top and put it on your bed. You had a shower, dressed up and finished your biscuits and Coke. When you got to medical complex for your class at 10:07am, you waited for another 40 minutes to hear the inevitable. The lecturer would not be able to make it, your course rep announced. You resisted the urge to say the words in your mouth because you knew they would sound terrible. You shut up, took your handbag and began the long walk to your hostel.
